Screen wash

Hi does anyone know how to reduce the amount of screen wash used on each wash?
Mine uses a set amount at each press which seems to squirt forever, if the headlamp wash is on it uses even more.
It would be nice to give a shorter squirt for a "light" wash.

Being a true Yorkshire man I don't want any wasted. Whistle

I didn't realise it used a set amount. I just keep my finger on the button until the screen is well soaked otherwise is just smears it. It needs a fair bit to shift the Herefordshire clay and other s Censored t the farmers leave on the roads around here. Laughing GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver

Thanks for the replies
Appreciate the humour but would still ask the question,
Is it possible to adjust the amount or length of time the wash is activated?
I am referring to a MY13 model, it just seems to send out far too much fluid.

It is a MY13 thing, you now have to only momentarily press and release the washer button for a timed amount to be released. There is nothing the owner can change and i very much doubt the dealer could do anything as it probably is'nt a software change option.

Personally it does'nt seem overkill to me and the reservoir is quite large.

I agree that the fluid is overused. The problem seems to be with nozzles, they just jet the water instead of showering the windscreen.

I know some people who a really Censored off with this use nozzles from Skoda or Ford Focus, replace the originals and enjpy the shower instead of solid Censored - Censored Wink

Didn't try it myself though.

You live & learn Very Happy . I've just tried it and it does squirt a reasonable amount. I would say not too much as I have been using a bit more than the preset quantity. It isn't exactly a big cost compared to the overall running costs. GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver

MY11 = no set amount. Short press = small amount of fluid ejaculated (oo-eerrrr missus Embarassed ) ...

The other nice thing about the MY13 is that as well as the usual three wipes after squirting (fnar fnar) it gives a further delayed wipe to catch the drips. I'm a fan.

And I'm quite irritated with this feature: wet mud is flying into the face, you bring up the water, wipers do their job, it becomes clean, wet mud continue to fly and this delayed wipe ruins everything Mr. Green
