collinsb, read the last bit after your quote, as you say they are legal in UK, but need the GB sticker unless you have GB in the Euro symbol on the plates for travelling abroad. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

One thing NOT to take, if you have one, is your laser/radar (speed trap) detector.

Unless they've changed the rules on this recently, I believe these are illegal in France. Having one turned off on the dash won't cut much ice with the "le plod" - just don't take it, or have it safely stored in the boot.

There was some hoohah about SatNavs with speed camera locations on them being illegal too - not sure how true or enforceable that is, so I defer to someone with better knowledge that I - might be an urban myth.......

Banned item, you can download a Tom Tom update though, it changed the Safety Camera Site to a Danger Area. Confused
Also apparently they are not allowed to actually touch the Sat Nav to see if it has the locations on the actual unit. Confused
