You should find towing a bit more of a pleasure with a Freelander 2. Just go easy on the clutch especially if reversing, it's a tad high geared, a mover may be better for you if you haven't one already, especially if it's an uphill reverse. Thumbs Up

I have to agree with you,we took our van out for the first time last weekend since buying the car in December I was a bit nervous but everything was fine.I towed with a D2 before but the freelander 2 is much nicer tow car.

quick question on the manual vs auto.

weve not towed with the FL2 yet after two years, despite paying LR £700 for a genuine removable bar Rolling Eyes

which is best for towing / manouvering - the auto or manual. weve got a manual at the moment, but thinking of changing for a newer FL2 and maybe an auto. it will only be used to tow a small 1100Kgs van and maybe in an emergency the Twin Axle Delta

i can't say anything pro or anti for the auto because i have not used one to tow with but i like the manual box,did the towing very well with my van on the back. didn't tow far 40 miles there and back going a bit further next time so will let you know.

cheers

Graeme
