Nonsense, I have had rain-x from day one, no problems, no judder, no squeeks.

My experience with windscreen treatments like rain-x or gtechniq etc is they always smear a bit under the wipers, I put stuff on the side and rear screen but I leave the windscreen alone now.

You could try cleaning screen with very fine wire wool, seems a it drastic but does work, would certainly get anything off the screen that should'nt be there, and yes I did it on mine but I did try it on my daughters old car 1st

Another one against Rain X, it seems to be on vehicles with Flat Blade Wipers that the smearing and juddering seems to happen, old style wipers seem fine. |

Rain-X...less is more, use very sparingly why put loads on only to wipe it all off or have it evaporate, rub it in using a gentle swirling motion, I can see the effect on the screen changing as I wipe it on. It is advised not to use it in cold weather? maybe it doesn't coat the screen correctly or evaporate correctly, the alcohol content will cause the blades to harden possibly causing the judder as they are not as flexible as they should be.

Judging by the rainbow colouring effect on the screen, it looks to be oil/chemical contamination. |
