rear wiper affecting right turn indicator

Good morning all, I wonder if anyone can help. As the title suggests, my right turn indicator is flashing intermittently with the rear wiper but I've also had my windscreen wipers on without my rear wiper but my rear wiper has come on also causing the indicator to flash , hope that makes sense. I've had a search on the forum and found lots about rear wiper motors but nothing linked to the indicator. I guess there are relays to work the wipers and indicators so I wondered if they use the same relay or if they're linked in some way, are they located in the engine compartment and could they have got water in, I have hit a few puddles causing water to come over the bonnet.

I would really appreciate any advice as I'm at a loss.

Thanks

There is a recent post http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic18852.html where the rear wiper developed a life of it's own. Turned out to be the stalk switch on the steering column which in your case may be the same (or the wiring in the column) and may explain the indicator involvement. Otherwise check the earth points. John

Thanks for the link John. Time for a trip to the auto electricians I guess.

Just an update for anyone with similar problem. Car now fixed. It was a circuit board behind the steering wheel, linking the wiper stalk to the indicator stalk. Possibly the same as in the link John posted above. It was around £120 plus labour, covered on warranty I purchased.
