Puzzling dashcam operation

I had a dashcam for Christmas, and enquired on FL2 regarding an ignition based
fuse, so that I could hide the wiring behind the dash, rather than plugging it in
to either of the ones on centre console. I used F5. I have connected live (F5) to
centre pin of plug and earth wired to sidepin. Power is getting through when
ignition switched on. Simple....BUT
Camera comes on when ignition switched on, but goes off within 5 seconds.
If I use a connection from permanent live, (back of console), camera works correctly.
I have checked that power is getting through, and checked polarity. Any ideas??
After all it's only two bloody wires!! 2013 Dynamic Santorini black

Is the camera voltage sensitive
IE over works above about 13.4 volt (when engine is running and charging the battery and your driving) and turns off when voltage drops below approx 12.8 volts (engine turned of and not charging) approx 20 seconds after turning the engine off.

This is so you don't leave it switched on and flatted the battery, lets face it, it only need to work when your on the move !!
A lot of DTRL work in the same way.
Hope this may helps Thumbs Up

Hi Jp, if that is the case, surely it would happen, regardless of the power supply?
Has anyone else got a camera fitted? 2013 Dynamic Santorini black

I am just looking at getting a RoadHawk camera for mine.

I was having a look through for wiring issues and came across this.
So please, if you find a solution, do let me know too.

Many thanks and good luck
