Trailer Tent

Hello

We've got a big trailer tent and have been towing it about with Wifeys Saab convertible for last 2 or 3 years. Now have FL2, but will have to get towbar fitted. Does getting one fitted at an independent ( Like Indespension) invalidate any LR warranty. I'm sure big towbar centres who have been around for ages know what they are doing so I imagine would be OK

Thanks

It can only invalidate the warranty if anything they do causes a fault, this would also have to be proved that it was caused directly from the work done. If the wiring loom melts because something they did has earthed out, or the Body Control Module goes Censored up and it can be proved that its is down to the work that's been done then yes.

Whilst it won't invalidate a warranty, having towbar electrics fitted using a bypass relay will invoke a poor dealer response if in the future your car happens to suffer from any electrical gremlins.
Although it is dearer it would pay to install a dedicated canbus loom to put your mind at ease.

Thanks for replies, but I would expect a reputable , established Towbar company to know what they are doing. Perhaps I won't get one fitted, if it going to be a problem. There were no probs with the wifes 07 Saab, but it was out of warranty.

Thanks
