My stop/start only works in the summer months. It went through a phase in November were it would turn the engine off and restart after about 3 seconds. I've charged the battery a few times at work, we have an RAC smart charger. After about 20 minutes the charger says the battery is fully charged. I don't know if I have an issue with the battery or not. TBH unless the battery will not start the car I don't really want want to fork out 150 for a new battery. I believe there are all kind of variables that affect the system, it's very complicated. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

ECO stop/start saves fuel each time it stops the engine for longer than 3 seconds.

Not a fan of ECO stop/start. It seems to me that we have lost the plot if you have to use energy to charge your battery at home so that stop/start will work to save energy. John

I asked for it to be disabled but told not possible. Surely the software could disable it? * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

Might as well try and get used to it as it is now being introduced to all new models including automatics. It is already available on Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and 2014 Discovery and will be coming to all models as they are replaced. |

I think the amount of fuel it saves at an average traffic light stop must be very very small.

It's ok for you North of the Border, come down here, it's nothing to sit at a set of lights and watch them go through three or four changes and you still don't move, when you finally move, 100 yards to the next set and repeat the scenario |
