Headlight adjuster switch not working

Hi - have only had my 2011 Freelander for a couple of weeks and took headlamps out today to update bulbs. Now noticed the headlight adjuster switch does not move the lights. Hadn't tried it before taking out the headlights ( was set to 0 ) so not sure if I'm missing something when I refitted them to stop it working
Any ideas would be appreciated

I think, but am not certain, that the headlight adjustment only works on dipped beams, not on main beam.

Just checked Topix and it maybe one of the following fuses:

ENGINE COMPARTMENT FUSE BOX

Fuse number Rating (Amps) Fuse colour Circuits protected
F38 10 Red AFS (RH lamp motors)
F43 5 Tan Headlamp levelling control - AFS
F44 10 Red AFS (LH lamp motors)

Worth a try to check these have not blown first - at least it will either solve your problem or be something to rule out of the equation... MY2010 TD4 HSE Santorini Black, 19" Alloys, Almond Leather, Lux Pack, Rear Spoiler, Adaptive Xenons

Well think I've found the problem - stopped working again after changing the fuse so had a good look at the wiring connector that goes in to the back of the headlight assy. Where all the wires are uncovered for approx 2 inches where they go in to the connector on the passenger side headlamp one of them has obviously been hard against a metal edge of the bodywork and the insulation has been worn through so the bared bit of the wire can touch the body

None I know why the CSI guys on telly use torches instead of putting the lights on - was looking in semi dark with a torch and to be honest am not sure I would have spotted it in daylight as is a very small cut in the insulation but the torch reflected off the bared wire !!!

Will tape it up in the morning in day light and fingers crossed problem sorted
