Service indicator

Although I've only had the Freelander 2 since December (bought it pre-registered; registered in September) the display has started to indicate that a service is dues. It is going off to the dealer next week, but wondered whether anyone else has had this happen?

Is this not normal Question My FL2 is not old enough yet, but on the last car (BMW) the display gave a warning in good time when a service was due which is a very usefull for remembering service intervals. Is this not normal on other makes/models as well Question 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Sorry, should have explained more fully: first noticed that it was suggestiong a service would be required in 20 days. It is now suggesting it is six days overdue.

Have same problem with mine Registered in Jun 07 and service indicator currently showing over 60 days overdue. Dealer told me to ignore the indicator until service was due. Suspect it's all down to the build date and when the electrics are first fired up and the dealer not resetting the service indicator during the pre delivery inspection.

That sounds a bit iffy to me Shocked - My last car (BMW) had a similar service indicator and it worked perfectly from day one Thumbs Up
As yet I dont think my FL2 is old enough for its first service, although it was built in July 07 but not registered until Nov.07, so far I have not had any service warning issues Thumbs Up 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

He could/would reset it but.......

apparently once reset it would then think it had a full 12 months to go to the next Service rather than just over 2 months. Therefore he suggested that it was left as it was until the Service was due and then have it reset.
Doesn't bother me as it reminds me I need to call a Dealer and arrange for the first service and get it reset/sorted.

There is allways the service book that has to signed by the dealer so that I don't think that a reset or update would really count. FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER
