Also ordered an XS a week ago with xenons but nothing from the dealer regarding any shortage (yet). Will keep you posted if I hear any different. |

Back in 2011 when I was ordering the Evoque xenons were causing delays for some, cars that had them as standard were fine but those specifying them as an option were facing lengthy delays. This is nothing new for LR.

I have been told the Freelander 2 I ordered with optional Xenon headlights will be delayed due to supply problems with the units. Dealer also mentioned that Xenon's may not come back on as an option!!

I would say supply problem, can't see them dropping xenons.

Perrrys were in touch today - LR not taking orders for xenon option at the moment. Situation might change by end of Jan.

Thanks JohnD - also had it confirmed by LR today that there is a supply issue but they did not know when it will be resolved. |

I would never have halogen headlights again. If it was me, I would wait for the Xenons to appear again.

From my understanding HSE Lux is only version with Xenon as standard which is out of my budget. So guess I am going to be stuck with standard lights for now. |

I sometimes flick on the front fog lights on the country lanes near me because it can be quite difficult to see the edge when there is oncoming traffic and the low light gives an extra bit of visibility in that area. I am well aware of rule 236 of the Highway Code and all I will say is that I have never ever been dazzled by another driver's front fog lights. Rear fog lights are a different kettle of fish and very annoying if mis used. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

I had a MY13 HSE with standard lamps as a courtesy car this week and must admit I found the light given out to be very poor compared to my MY11 Xenons - so bad I stopped and got out twice to see if they were actually on!!!

All Freelanders from the 2010 facelift had projector headlights.

I haven't experienced lights from pre-MY11 cars but I find that the standard projector lights are very good. Certainly much better than my previous Audi. Never had Xenons before but new car will have them. |
