Headlight baking?

I want to put led's in my headlights, as it seems there is space for them. I have
read somewhere on this forum, that to separate the lens, you put the headlamp
assembly in the cooker to melt the glue. Gas mark 8 for twenty minutes?? Question Does
it not melt the plastic lens? (Obviously not ) how long do you leave it in for? Can
it be done with a paint stripper? How long do you have when you take it out
before the glue re-sets? What do you reseal it with? .....Is it successful??
Answers please on a postcard to................ Whistle 2013 Dynamic Santorini black

Does it work on Freelander lights? I tried on a scrap pair (at 200 F not C) and nothing. Have heard that the glue is not a thermoplastic style one that softens when heated, so can't be done? 2016 BMW X3 30d SE in red

Tried this last week with no joy..
Second post down
http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic18008-15.html

I was removing the lenses to spray the grey on the 2011 light black...
Did think about doing a DLR mod,, but changed my mind for this reason ........... Go to all that trouble removing the lenses and fitting the LED lights and after a while LEDs start to malfunction and your left with headlights with light strips with bulbs out Rolling Eyes and your left with removing the lenses again to remove the strip

I work with LEDs in work and its a common fault BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders

I found this to be the problem myself Andrew the glue wasn't going soft, if anything it seemed to harden the hotter it got... Confused BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders
