United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Orkney Grey
Annoying advice bing

Hello

Does anyone else get the bing and display advice to 'press footbrake or clutch pedal' when manually releasing the electronic hand brake. It seems to happen randomly when in ECO mode. I've obviously pressed the clutch to get the car to start again after the ECO stop ! .. so why is it telling me to press the clutch or brake ? I already have !
Think I'll turn ECO off and ask my dealer why its doing it. Its a manual by MY2013 TD4 GS by the way

Thanks

England 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Santorini Black

Can't speak for the manual, but I was trying to do the right thing with the auto by manually releasing the EPB when moving off and got a similar annoying message telling me to "press the foot brake and engage drive before releasing the parking brake" even when it was already in drive. Must admit it did cause some confusion at first "only had it 3 weeks".
Now I just leave it in drive and press the accelerator to auto release the EPB which seems to be the way LR want you to use it.
Does the EPB on the your manual auto release? In which case I would tend to not try and release it manually. Thumbs Up

Same thing with my MY2014 manual. I quickly learnt to trust the car and now I don't touch the epb when I want to move off - clutch, accelerator and away we go faultlessly with no "helpful "advisory message.

Yep, it's normal

Nothing to worry about your car is working as it should. Thumbs Up

I just allow mine to auto release. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Thanks for all replies

I'll get into the habit of leaving the EPB alone with my mitts then. I don't know why I actually started using it manually, since I used the 'auto release' function when I first got it. Maybe getting from one car to another (my wifes Saab) I felt I had to do something with my left hand when moving off !!
