Can't speak for the manual, but I was trying to do the right thing with the auto by manually releasing the EPB when moving off and got a similar annoying message telling me to "press the foot brake and engage drive before releasing the parking brake" even when it was already in drive. Must admit it did cause some confusion at first "only had it 3 weeks".

Same thing with my MY2014 manual. I quickly learnt to trust the car and now I don't touch the epb when I want to move off - clutch, accelerator and away we go faultlessly with no "helpful "advisory message. |
