The Reg No is a bit odd, if you put it into mycarcheck.com is comes up with the registration does not exist Question
Put the Reg No into your-car-registered.com/ and it will show you where that number was registered, in this case Kitts Green, around the corner from Lode Lane Wink p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

This render may also explain those "long" evoques that seem to be dotted around?

The plate is strange now it's pointed out aren't LR mules VX prefix.

It looks good but doubt it's what we are all waiting on. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

VX/VK generally indicate mules and Press fleet. No idea why they use those prefixes....probably just to annoy Vauxhall Rolling with laughter

Interestingly, the engine in this particular model is a 2.0 Petrol turbo......HotFire unit on test perhaps?? Whistle Foraging near Gaydon....

Interesting Car Magazine article suggests the new baby Discovery will be revealed in late 2014.

"Land Rover is readying a revolution in the heart of its range. This SUV test mule is the new ‘baby Discovery’ – which replaces the current Freelander in late 2014."

It also says the new car won't benefit from the new engines until later in its life cycle Confused 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

I would take it all with a pinch of salt until we actually see the finished car. Even if we see the car next year, doesn't mean it will be on sale next year.

One thing I would disagree with, is that the new car is being designed purely with the new AJ200 engines. But I have asked a contact of mine if the current engines are in the cars plans. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. OK, a bit of news. Just had a reply about the engine situation.

The new car will be seen towards the end of next year, but no firm decision has been made as to whether to launch in 2014 or some point in 2015. But it will be a staggered launch with different countries getting the car at different points.

But the first cars will be launched with the current engine line up. The new AJ200 engines will be bought in to production for the 2016MY around October 2015.

Personally I would never buy the new car with the old engine, In time, I think this will prove a bad decision as the residual values will suffer.

The first model of a new car always seems to suffer (although my first FL2 didn't) on residual values and I can see the same happening with the new car.

I will have the new car next time round, but it I will go for the car with the new engines. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Mmmmm not sure if I agree with you on the engine Mav, the current engine is well proven, it's failings are known, what happens if the new engine turns out to be a Lemon. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

The only "old" engine that is worth buying is the sdv6. If they fit the sdv6. Rolling Eyes the 2.2 diesel and the 2.0 ecoboost are not worthy of a MY2015 car.
But the AJ200 engines might have "new" problems like any new thing, engine, phone, wife, etc.

Thats a very good point! The new one could be a lemon, but somehow I doubt it. The money and people that have been invested in this in my opinion would not allow failure!

Don't get me wrong, the current engines are fantastic, but I think it would be a backward step for a new car. My main point is emissions etc, the 2.2 TD4 is not exactly the cleanest engine when compared to other premium brand offerings.

So the new car will be expected to have much lower emissions than the current car, so can LR do this with the current engine?

I remember when the 3rd Generation Vectra was launched in 2002. For the first 20 months, it had the old 2.0 and 2.2 DTi engines. They were good and reliable but very old, then when the newer much better 1.9 CDTi's came out in early 2004 the car was in a different league.

The the cars with the older engines de-valued like a rocket. OK, Vauxhall is not a premium brand like LR but it's all relative. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
