At least 6 New Freelanders have been built and are currently being used for testing.

I wonder if the 1.6 diesel is 4wd? The 70mpg sounds like 2wd? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

That seven seat part scares me... if I wanted a large SUV, I would've purchased an LR4, Jeep Commander or Chevy Tahoe. We have a million of them here in the U.S. The reason I bought my LR2 was because I wanted an off-road capable SUV that was small – slim pickins these days, at least on this side of the pond, unless you want to endure the likes of the very-Spartan Jeep Wrangler or Nissan Xterra.

I think some people would like to have seat 7 seats but the D4 is out of their budget hence why LR are producing a 7 seater Freelander. In the states you guys can get a top spec D4 for $59,220. This works out as £36,564.92. An entry spec Disco costs just under £40,000 in UK

I bet tax plays a large part in the price difference between the uk and the states? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
