Dust caps

Just finished putting another set on and another one has been nicked, the first time it was from the front thus time from the rear.

Why can't people leave things alone Evil or Very Mad I know it's not a major theft, but it's the thought of someone touching my motor.

Going to get a set of anti theft ones 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

When I lived in Glasgow a few years ago the local NED's used to have an initiation test for new members which involved trying to remove dust caps from cars without triggering the security lights. Their particular favourite were any dust caps with a logo on them.

Those are no good according to the Indy I used for a service on me first Freely, I had the same problem of caps going missing, bought a set of those, they had only been on a couple of weeks before it went for a service, came back, all the caps replaced, they changed them as they were seized on to the valve stems, Rolling Eyes they checked the tyre pressures, to do this meant cap removal, couldn't do it by hand so put a set of grips on them and wound them off Thud p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

I've only used the plastic, cheap ones, so no one will be tempted...
The goal is to keep the dust off, isn't it?

The cheap plastic ones are fine, they don't react with wheel cleaners either which can corrode the threads on the metal ones, they 're usually a cheap plated base metal, I have had that problem before and it was a real pain to get them off.

The first ones that went missing were the standard black ones, as has been said they nick them for the fun of it, doesn't really matter what ones they are.

I've still got three black ones from the first set so replacing them isn't a problem, until the rest go missing Rolling Eyes 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

They are also there in case the tyre valve fails! Probably a lot less common now as valves are changed at the same time as tyres now but that was not always the case.
