reception problems after removing factory radio

hi guys im sorry if someone has already spoken about this topic but i need some help. i took out the standard radio in my 2010 freelander 2 and replaced it with a jvc kw-av60bt double din dvd player. it works perfectly despite the fact my sat nav screen stays off, and my pdc does not work. apparently it is due to the fact everything runs through the factory radio... my question though is this, i have the antenna plugged in but my radio reception is terrible....any one had this problem? thanks!

There is likely an in-line signal amplifier between the antenna and the head unit. If your new head unit is not sending power down the antenna cable, it won't be boosting the signal. garioch43
