I don't have a DPF on mine. I might get a bottle this weekend and try it out. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

I bought some Comma 2stroke oil today, I will give it a try tomorrow when I fill the car up.

This is the stuff I bought in the end.

That's the stuff I get from Amazon at the moment - if you carry on using 2SO you can get 5 litres there for under £18 with free delivery.
Like you I have a 2010 model with no DPF

Well I put some 2 stroke in this morning. The engine was already warm. A couple of miles after filling up I stopped at some lights and the engine seemed quieter? I don't know if this is the 2 stroke or my mind playing games? I will try 2 stroke for a couple of months and see how I get on. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

"Super" diesel is better for this necessary extra lubrication, but in my humble opinion, 300ml of 2-s oil is far superior when added to ordinary fuel.

So.....

...are you saying I can achieve the same benefits as using 2SO by just using e.g. Shell Vpower Nitro+

or...

...a combination of 2SO and Shell Vpower Nitro+ will give me all the benefits plus better mpg? Steve

Hi guys! I bought a bottle of Shell Advance SX 2t oil, JASO FD, mineral. It says on the bottle 'prediluted'. My question: is it still ok to use and what does prediluted actually mean? PS: my LR doesnt have a dpf. Thanks! 2010 Land Rover Freelander 2 TD4.e GS

No idea what that means however you shouldn't have any problems. Personally i always buy semi-synthetic FC spec - probably cheaper too. eh tu?

I had a feeling it would be OK, but just thought I'd double-check. It says, mineral, JASO-FD and ISO EGD. As far as I've managed to work out, pre-diluted has something to do with better mixing if added to fuel. Question Yeah, it's a bit on the dear side ... a tenner for a litre. Neutral Probably go with Tesco's/ Asda's/ Wilko's finest next time ... 2010 Land Rover Freelander 2 TD4.e GS

With no DPF just use the cheapest & not synthetic. Never paid more than £6 per litre sometimes as low as £4 per litre.

Yeah, will do in future. Just wondering whether this 'pre-diluted' is of any significance ... does anybody know? 2010 Land Rover Freelander 2 TD4.e GS

I've just done a quick search and it seems that pre-diluted means the 2SO has had solvents added that makes it
thinner / more free-flowing so that it performs better in cold conditions and in two stroke systems that use oil injectors rather than mixing it yourself when fuel is added to the tank. It's still 2SO just has a lower viscosity / pours easier. The main problem that I can see is that it costs more!

By pouring it into a tank then filling that with fuel it gets very diluted when used in the manner advocated so pre- dilution simply not needed but can't be a problem either.

Incidentally, I've tried Redex and can report that in my case it did diddly squat. Nowt. If anything the engine feels a tad more sluggish than it did before, but that could just be imagined. So I'll give the old char à banc a good drink of 2 stroke and report my findings. Thumbs Up 2010 Land Rover Freelander 2 TD4.e GS
