I wouldn't have thought you'd need drilled and grooved discs on a FL2 unless you intend doing a few track days in it.

Because the traction control and ABS are setup to work with a specific brake efficiency.

ABS and traction control work by sensors measuring the differences in rotational speeds of the road wheels. The coefficients of friction on any brake linings vary immensely due to temperature, whether they are wet or dry or the surfaces glazed or worn. Aftermaket discs and pads should have no effect on either system. |

If the aftermarket parts are within LR tolerances then yes they should work as good as the originals.

You can use the brake disk from the petrol FL2 on the diesel as well, but I have not tested it..

are all the brakes the same size, I seem to remember someone saying that the later cars have bigger calipers or something and wouldnt fit into the smaller rims from the older models? |

As far as I am aware the only change to size of brakes came in with the 2013MY and the EPB on the rear brakes meaning 16" wheels won't now fit a 2013MY model.

I have more than 3000 km with ATE brake disks and TRW pads and they works perfectly.
