I purchased mine separately from the dealer. It came primed and the dealer painted it for me. The paint job costed as much as the spoiler. But it really gives a good finish to the rear end. |

You can get them separately from Dealers and they also appear on ebay. The fitting involves two brackets and 3m adhesives. I am about to get mine painted and fitted next week and the paint shop doing it is that used by the local LR dealer and are doing the painting and fitting for much less than the cost of the spoiler off ebay.

Deos the spoiler have any pratical use, like deflecting rain from the rear glass or is there proven advantages when driving at high speed or is it just for looks

Spoiler mainly for looks. I've just done a 300 mile round trip from Devon to Oxford and did not notice any difference in handling.

Maybe a live 12volt wire along the outer edge might discourage that 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof. Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |

I would say mainly for looks, but due to the shallow angle of the rear window and teh overhang of the spoiler probably does keepthe window slightly cleaner....maybe!! |
