If you sold the jeep to the dealer they transferred the private plates back to you, it sounds like they didn't bother making the new plates up and swapping the jeep to the correct one before the new owner drove off in it, most likely tax it on what the paperwork said, and no one actually checked

Those results are because both vehicles are insured on their 'correct' identities. The fact is the plate is / was on the Jeep when it shouldn't have been, and the Jeep owner can keep taxing and insuring it on the VOD plate but continue displaying DOR causing you un-needed grief.

Phone them back and ask if it's OK to put your private plates back on the car even though it's been re-registered, and when they say it's an offence, tell them that's what the new owner has done.

To get two within such a short period of time suggests this is now a deliberate act.

ie they WERE driving around with the correct plates for a while, and then suddenly realised they had access to the old plates (without having to provide a V5 to have them made up), and have deliberately fitted them so as to avoid parking fines/speeding tickets.

The fact that you now have a crime reference number means, I would say, you are in a much better position if the police decide to take this further.....

Can the driver/passenger be identified from the photos in the parking fine demand? I know you don't know them from Adam, but are the photos of sufficient quality for the dealer to be able to say, "yep - that's the freeloading, pus infected, sputum loaded, benefits cheating, knuckle dragging invertebrate that I sold it to...."?

Slaneydore have you spoken to the latest parking ticket company? I was just wondering what their take is on cars with false plates? I watched a program years ago on how Sweeden tackled the issue of cloned plates. They have a government department that issues the plates and sends them to the registered address of the keeper of the car. You can't get plates made anywhere else in Sweeden. I know this doesn't help on your case but got me thinking as to what our government is doing about cloned plates? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Can't make out who is driving or passengers
Phoned the latest parking ticket company and they dident wanna know and basically said I need to pay the fine within 2 weeks otherwise it will go up to £100 Rolling Eyes
After phoning fraud action they told me the parking ticket company needs to contact them as they are the ones issuing the ticket ... So back on the phone to tell them I was I told, and her reply was no no no we wouldn't do that, well that's what they told me you need to do, nor were not gonna do that.. Well you have to ... And I was shocked what she said next ( couldn't give a fu@k and put the phone down ) Shocked
My dealer phoned the new owners this morning and said she was beside her self with worry ? And she never revived the paperwork for the plate change
When I told my dealer I have informed fraud action he didn't seem to like that, and started saying it wasn't their fault. Well it is I said as you sold a car with false plates that didn't belong to it so really your are to blame, you should of never listed the jeep until you had the paper work thro and the new plates fitted Whistle

Just typed up 2 letters to send to both ticket company's to send out tomorrow along with the crime reference number, lets just wait to see what happens and I'm hoping I don't get anymore thru Rolling Eyes BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders
