Bloody loft hatch just blew open. Went outside and noticed that about a dozen roof tiles had been lifted up by a gust but one had come right out and turned sideways stopping them from dropping back into place. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Had to swerve around a fallen tree on the way to work, that's about the limit of the affect for me. 2011 MY SD4 HSE + planning some interesting stuff

Funny how you are more aware of danger when you get older. Just put my ladders up and lashed them to the bathroom window for safety. Got up above the gutter height ........and that was as far as I dared! Managed to refit all the tiles by poking them back in place from the top of the ladder using my telescopic window cleaner thingy and pushed the last one in place from inside the loft. I didn't fancy stepping on the roof at all but when we moved into this house 23 years ago in 1990, I went up on the roof to attach my Sky dish to the chimney stack. Not only that, to tune it in I actually hoiked the satellite receiver AND a TV set up there and set it up by tuning it in and moving the dish about until I got a good picture! When it was tuned I stayed up there and watched the best part of a cricket match too! The neighbours must have thought me a nutter and I suppose I must have been. I honestly don't know how I did it. No problems down here in Cornwall. Strong(ish) winds today with sudden sharp showers but nothing exceptional. Colder than of late though, down around 10-12 degrees. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

Incredible bravery and seamanship. Group of kids messing about in the sea spray but who realises the dangers at that age ? This was about 12 hours before the worst of the storm hit and the sea was worse this morning. Hopefully his body will be recovered in the coming days to help give the family some closure. _________________ Gone - 2010 Rimini XS |
