I dont know how, but I managed to snap the passenger air vent silver knob off.

I'm going to guess that you now have the silver bit broken into two pieces. Super glue is probably not first choice.

You don't even need to do that. The new vent comes as a complete unit with knob etc, ready to fit.

My Freelander was missing a vent knob when I acquired the vehicle and despite searching high and low, could not find a cheap source of either just the knob, the affected vent, or a scrap vent to remove just the knob from. Not unsurprisingly all the breakers I spoke to had vents but no knobs - wonder why

Had the same problem with the passenger side vent when I first bought mine. Also had to re attach the arms to the vent wheels on both the centre vents. Took ages to find a replacement for the passenger side but eventually got one from here.
