Not sold a Freelander but in 2007 I had to sell my Ford Focus back to the dealer when I had to stop driving on medical grounds. I made sure I spoke to the guy who sold it to me and I got a good price with not much money lost at all (can't remember the exact figures) LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I imagine they will simply treat it as a "trade in" less a bit.

My dealer has always given me 」2k-3K more than we buy any car, there are a few dealers that advertise buying cars for cash, my ones one of them although I've always traded in.

Not a freelander, but I had to sell my father-in-law's Honda CR-V after he died earlier this year.

Yes I sold a FL2 back to the dealer when it was about 2 yrs old due to impending company car. Dealer gave me a good price in line with my expectations without too much haggling. Remember dealer still needs to make a profit...so look at dealer forecourt prices for a similar car..then take 2 to 3 K off..then that's the price you'll get.

I sold my bike (Triumph Street) to one of the WBAB types of companies, they gave just over trade in price for it which made it an easy sale.

The thing to remember when you see the car you traded in for 」x marked up to 」y is that for a start they have to pay vat on the difference, then they have to get it valeted and serviced and probably a fresh MOT and then they have to allow for a warranty. Add to that it might sit on the forecourt for a month or two so bank interest charges. It's not all profit. |

That's not really selling the car back to the dealer for cash though, is it? That sounds like a straight part exchange.....or have I misunderstood? |

OK. I'm obviously being thick, 'coz that still just sounds like a part exchange.
