Door handle covers

Has anyone fitted the door handle covers (colour coded not chrome)?
I just want to know if you can feel a lip from where they "end" and if they feel cheap. I was looking at full handle replacements but the covers are 1/2 the price and will look the same fitted - don't want to fit them and regret it

Thanks

I bought the same new handles as you from Rimmer Bros - they really are only a 10 minute job to change over.

If you are looking for mirror covers, keep an eye on eBay - they do come up every now and again - I bought mine from there a few months ago, 」48 delivered for genuine parts and I think they make a massive difference Thumbs Up The BEST looking half of the famous Twinlanders Ner Ner

Well handles arrived this morning (great service from Rimmer Bros) alaong with clear rear brake light Thumbs Up
Printed the fitting instructions and went into garage dreading making a mess of things.
Brake light went on nice and easy and looked good, then it was onto the handles Neutral
Started with the o/s/r and it was a piece of cake Very Happy 3-4 mins including removind and cleaning the rubber seals underneath and polishing the paint under the seals.
Did the drivers door and the n/s/r door just the same then came the pass front door - removed the lock and handle fine, cleaned the rubbers and paintwork and pushed the new handle into place, refitted the lock and tried with the cap - couldn't get it on Shocked
I pulled the door handle and it pulled out but wouldn't return fully - tried a few more time, removed/ refitted several times to find a plstic part on the new handle had broke off and was stopping the handle returning Big Cry
I pulled the broken piece out and refitted to the handle and refitted to car several times to find the broken piece kept comming off - panicking i didn't know what to do - refit black handle, swear, panic, i did the last 2 then had a thought.
Looking at the black handles they all have this piece so i manage to lever it off 1 of the black handles and fit it to the new. Refitted the new handle and all working Thumbs Up

Anyway, just to prove even an idiot can fit them (in the end) here's proof - new sidesteps fitted on saturday as soon as i got the new (to me) car home

Yep rear spoiler and facelift front bumper planned Thumbs Up

Only had the car since saturday and already done the following -
Spent a full day with the DA, Auto-Finesse polish, Jetseal protection
Fitted Colour coded door handles (obviously)
Fitted side-steps
Fitted clear high level brake light
Fitted silver bulbs in front indicators and side repeaters, leds in interior lights/boot light
Cherished plate transfer - still being processed

Still in post due to be fitted this week as i'm on holiday Thumbs Up
Arch seals (i had new ones fitted but they don't go all the way around - these will be cut to size to complete
Smooth rear wiper (mine has bubbles under the paint)
New genuine front wiper blades (can't beat new wipers)
Stainless sill trims (to cover the scratches on the lower part of the sill)
Touch-up paint (noticed lots of chips while detailing)
Floormats (ebay used ones) - car came with genuine rubber ones which will be used in winter

Might even get to drive it sometime this week as well Laughing

Just the first 3 days Thumbs Up the other bits should be here tommorow hopefully

Did you get your bumper in grey and was it intact? some on ebay don't have the fog holders on the back and i don't know if these can be swapped from pre-facelift bumper?
What condition are the bumpers in - slight scratches or damage that need repairs as well as paint?

Yep i've seen Mavs thread and i'm looking into the tailgate handle swap along with 18" alloy upgrade, side protection strips and rear light upgrade eventually - neverending isn't it Shocked

Needed to get the bumper re spayed, most bumpers from RC have slight marks, if you do decide to get a bumper from Richard give him a bell before hand (number should be on his eBay listings - if not I have it) and tell him what you need on the bumper fogs sensors ect Thumbs Up BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders
