Indeed. The Code of Practice for safety recalls says, "The supplier will take all reasonable action to contact affected owners/registered keepers and recall their vehicles/components/parts for inspection and, if necessary, rectify components or assemblies the supplier believes are safety defective. In consultation with VOSA the supplier will send communication, in layman's terms, to the owner/registered keeper, directly or through the franchised dealer network or through other methods explaining the nature of the defect and its safety significance. VOSA must be given the opportunity to comment on the content of and method of communication prior to instigating a campaign." Coincidentally, my wife's Mini Countryman also has a 'risk of fire' recall on the go, but she received a phone call to alert her to it a couple of weeks back. Not a peep from Land Rover though, or my dealer, after nearly 2 months. |

A few days ago I received notification of Landrover recall ~P033, fuel leak from injector fuel return line. My Freely goes in tomorrow to have this checked out. I do not seem to have such leak...no smell or drips under the car. Do any of you suffer from this? Recall applies to Freelanders 2, 2012 to 2014 and Evoques.

Perhaps the Dealer hadn't advised the Factory of your details? Just a thought..... Foraging near Gaydon....

Mike @ customer relations said letters are on their way to all affected owners but given the power of the internet and this forum some of us are more aware than others and hence are calling dealers.

Just collected the Freely after its visit to the dealer for P033 recall. No problem with mine. I asked the service manager if he has seen any come through that have already been leaking or failed the pressure test and the answer was no after approx 20 vehicles tested, so it must indeed be a rare occurrence. |

Just over 1 hour's wait and I got a bag of sweeties and a bottle of water for the trip home (12 miles) and a free Moleskine notebook for my trouble. |

As above, echo jubdad's post. I also got a couple of Leather LR Key-rings in my goody bag, and a Defender brochure for my lad to pore over. Great service from Guy Salmon Coventry...very impressed with the friendliness and efficiency (and I NEVER thought I would say that about a Sytner group company!) Foraging near Gaydon....

Got mine in the post today but as they knew about this potential fault in summer, why didn't my dealer sort mine out before I picked it up as brand new at the end of August. Seems daft to me to let a customer take the car away knowing that it would have to brought back within months.

Three hours out of my life, lost forever and for what? No replacement part needed, update of the software for the start system and a poxy notebook. Chesterfield Gordon Lamb could not be bothered to even wash it never mind a valet as other owners have managed.
