Thanks Badger. Seems we have very similar cars Smile I'll be interested of course to know how yours does but in the meantime I'll be in touch with my dealer I think to see what they say.

Scotland 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Santorini Black

Land Rover have been extremely shoddy about this - we brought two new MY13 Freelanders back in March and if it was not until I read about the recall on this Forum I found both vehicles were at risk (albeit low). Surely either Land Rover or the dealer should have contacted my wife and I. Mike@LandRover if you're reading this would you like to comment?

The recall wasn't mentioned to me at all during my entire purchase process but as the car was owned by Land Rover at the time it was announced, I would hope that it has been performed - perhaps that's a long shot. I have a call into my dealers to find out. I only became aware of it because of an article in Which magazine that my wife happened to read. I have a horrible feeling that had she not done that, then letting me know has been lost in the exchange of ownership.

Well, according to my dealer, all service bulletins and recalls were performed on 18th Sep and nothing is shown as outstanding on the car. I find this a little odd or coincidental as the 18th just happens to be the same date that I paid a deposit for it. I know my dealer had to 'go looking' for it because I gave them a very specific colour combination to find, and so perhaps it had literally just come onto the second hard market and was genuinely being serviced/prepped that day? In any event, it seems I'm all good to go.

My one had to be checked for the spill rail recall and the one for the Eco stop/start software update. Only found out because I check topix every now and then. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

DaveBee, I would be inclined to book it in at another Dealer, and get it double checked. Dealers have a habit of employing lying smarmy salesmen that will tell you whatever you want to hear to get a sale....particularly the larger chains. It would be worth it for absolute peace of mind, after all, it's no cost to you or them. Foraging near Gaydon....

Mine went in yesterday for the heater software update and two recalls that I wasn't aware of.

One was the spill rail and no idea what the other was!! 63 plate, so just shows that recalls aren't checked on PDI. 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto

This campaign has been 'out there' since August and is certainly a 'proper' recall as it appears on the VOSA website - http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/s...nk&tx=

So shouldn't I have been contacted by now? I thought manufacturers were required to contact affected owners, yet I have recieved nothing, not an e-mail, phonecall or letter.

Has anyone else received anything? Surely LR aren't relying on folk noticing stuff on Topix? Most owners don't even know it exists. When I spoke to my dealer about it he was absolutely amazed when I said I'd seen it on Topix!

If TOPIX states "There are currently no outstanding Field Service Actions for this vehicle" for my VIN then isn't it certain this recall has been performed on mine?

Any dealer should be able to tell you as the vehicles life history will be on the JLR extranet. Smile

Nope, I received nothing either.

Mine was checked over a couple of weeks ago, but only because this topic appeared on this website otherwise I would have been completely clueless. I was told by the dealership I used that my car also has another recall outstanding on it, of which I was unaware, but it's just a software update so they'll get it done during it's first service.

I think thats poor service on Landrover's part and I'd love to hear a Landrover reps view on this. Joanne

Just request the details of your car from your dealer by email, also Topix will state 'This vehicle does not exist in any field service action' if the shown actions have been done. Like so.

Had mine done last week when it was serviced along with software update for Eco stop/start. Mine was built 6th Oct 2012. Nothing needed to be done according to details on invoice. Dealer knew about it when I phoned up to book service and I mentioned it so presume they would have done it anyway. It would have been nice if they had contacted me about it but I guess that is to much to ask! Disco 4 HSE SDV6 Orkney Grey

I don't know how to get to that screen on Topix but I can get to this one...

Doesn't this show enough for me to deduce the recall has been performed?
