Heated steering wheel / Seats

Couldn't find any previous posts regarding a heated steering wheel Whistle . Is it worth the upgrade? How long does it stay on for and which parts of the wheel is heated. For the seats how long do they stay on for? In the D2 they cut of after a short period and they don't go back on for a while. The more I read on this forum the more I want the Dynamic now Bow down so looks like March 2014 I will be visiting my dealer as opposed to September 2014! Don't think I could wait the extra 6 months now Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

The heated steering wheel stays on until you turn it off with the toggle switch to the right (where your phone controls are on an MY2012). I have yet to use it, as it's still summer to me! Foraging near Gaydon....

I specified the heated steering wheel, it's the best 」175 I've spent. It's not been really cold enough to try it out properly, but there is a slight chill in the mornings when leaving for work at 5.00. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

I have both since last november and used it quite a lot. The steering wheel heating was on almost daily in winter time. It heats up very fast and gets very warm at the beginning (which is good as I usually have cold fingers when I get in the car) and then reduces to a decent temperature so you don't sweat. I would order it again, no doubt. MY2013, 2.2 TD4 SE fuji white

Two stage heated seats stay on till you switch them off, had the heated wheel on a couple of courtesy FL2's and it is definately worth having - even if just for five minutes to take the chill off the wheel. Dont have it on my FL2 but next years X3 has heating steering wheel and 3 stage heated front and rear seats Whistle Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

Have a look in the 'Ta Ta to Tata LR' thread under the general section. Three main reasons:-

1) I lease my car and LR want to charge 」100 per month more than I pay now, I specced up a high spec X3 and that was 」50 cheaper than I pay now so with the BMW I am actually saving 」150 a month!
2) The FL2 is heavily outdated compared to the competition and fit and finish isnt on par with its rivals
3) Many problems within the last 6 months with my FL2 including 2 new Haldex units, new diff pressure pump, crank shaft seal, aux tension belt and has to go in yet again due to another rattle from within the engine bay. Vehicle is only 2.5 years old with 35000 miles on it. Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

Hi Natwest

I am placing an order for the Dynamic in March 2014. Wasn't sure if it was worth the 」175. But from the positive feedback I've had, I will be adding this on the options list Thumbs Up

Ah ok. Thought you were going to experiment by fitting to an earlier vehicle. In that case it's 」175 very well spent!
