Well, if he was thinking of becoming a regular contributor he's probably not any more after that welcome!

Actually, that wasn't my first post and I signed up to this forum at least a month before I bought my FL and in any case, that post was offering help, not asking for it! I was referring solely to svenk, the OP who posted over two years ago in March 2011 who made just the one post and hasn't been heard of since, not anyone else, especially not a new member who joined up just 30 minutes before I made my post. Why would I do that? Duncan (d2jlr), I have sent you a pm. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto Present: Audi A3 S Line. |

To get back on topic, the car will enter 'sleep mode' when the battery voltage drops below a certain level. It's possible that there's also a time parameter, but we've never been able to find out for certain, and anecdotal evidence suggests that some people have left the car for more than 4 weeks with no problem, perhaps indicating that only voltage is a factor.

I just wanted to give a bit more info regarding sleep mode if it hasn’t already been discussed, 6 weeks ago I broke my collar bone and had to have it plated so I haven’t driven or been in my car for about 4 or 5 weeks now.

I just wanted to add a bit more information to this thread following an experience that I had Friday which might help people experiencing key fob issues, my car is a 2010.

This strongly suggests you have one or more buttons sticking on your fob, as pressing and holding the unlock button will, by design, open all the windows as well as unlock the car. Similarly pressing and holding the lock button will close the windows. Very useful feature after the car's been parked up on a hot day. Last edited by pab on 28th Oct 2016 8:47 am.
