Its a no brainer really, Nexus 7 is a superior piece of kit, faster processor, higher resolution display and over 」100 cheaper. And I say that as an ipad owner! |

We have both in the house. I use the iPad, my youngest Son the Nexus. Both have positives and negatives, however I am surprised at just how much the Nexus is hamstrung - I was under the impression that it could do everything an Apple device couldn't (which it can't!)

I would probably choose the nexus. A much as I like my iPad, I don't know if I would have another one.

The iPad is nice, and iOS 7 looks really nice, but is the iPad worth that much more than the Nexus?

It would be interesting to know what you want to do but can't. I haven't yet found any limitations beyond those I'd expect of a tablet OS, and even without rooting Android is less constrained than iOS. iOS and Android aren't supposed to be desktop OSes - you'd need a Windows 8 tablet at $$$ for that. |

Just my two cents worth. I too own both. I use my nexus for at work for movies and surfing because you don't need to convert anything, just a on the go cable and USB stick. For home use and ease of Internet browsing , emails, bank and other admin, iPad mini all the time. |

Android has one huge advantage for web browsing - it allows me to use the same browsers and ad blockers, etc, as I run on my desktop, and filter out all the c*** I don't want to see. iOS doesn't let me do that, and for me that's a big deal as I hate being bombarded with ads all the time. So for me Android is the clear winner for web browsing. Admittedly, though, the standard Jelly Bean email client is pretty limited. It does what I need it to, and I can live with it, but it could be a lot better. |
