Throttle Body Motor

Asking for help re the engine warning light being on and the RAC say its a suspected faulty throttle body motor. Does this have to be replaced or can I get it cleaned out? Many thanks in advance.

Less than £100 from land rover, about a 10minute job to replace. The plastic gears are prob shot as mine were in the post that ad21049323344 posted

A landrover guy told me that if your throttle body fails then the best thing (to get you home) is to disconnect the plug at the top of the unit. This ensures that the flap stays open, you will get some warnings on the engine management light as the engine will be running a bit lean but it will be driveable.
