United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Santorini Black

Originally the only solution was to replace the sender units but more recently the hard wiring to pump seems to have been the answer and is working for those on here who have it applied. It's certainly a cheaper solution as I understand it!.

Thanks SakoQuad. I will refer this to our local LR dealer and see what they say again. When I explained our problem to them, they said that they had not heard of it! Seems unlikely doesnt it.

Whilst here, our parking sensors arent working either, and nothing from the dash button. Any simple solution to this?

Philip

It's a shame you had to wrestle the correct result from Lr, rather than the drop off / pick up all sorted sir you would have liked.

Come on Lr treat us poor punters like you ought too.

But well done to farnells for their efforts, I suppose that's why you need a good rep with yer dealer. My11 freelander 2, xs, Manual, 18" hse sparkles, sidesteps, privacy, zermatt silver metallic, almond nutmeg alacantra, twin electric towbar

Very True

I'm hoping that this years cover will be the last needed, as I have the top level of cover with LR and have been told by someone in the know not to bother with the lesser cover.

To be honest if I have the car then, I would rather sell it and find a seat in a ford Mondeo than keep it, since year 4 came I feel the life of the car has gone past it's use by date Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Mine has Lr extended till oct 14, then I will change to after market my vehicle warranty , all is covered and at a reasonable cost when compared to Lr .

I think it's Lr policy to try to be unhelpful to owners of "older vehicles" as they want you to buy new. My11 freelander 2, xs, Manual, 18" hse sparkles, sidesteps, privacy, zermatt silver metallic, almond nutmeg alacantra, twin electric towbar

That would be an option, but all I read is aftermarket warranty company's don't pay out, bit like LREW Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Tbh that was my view, but had them cover my d3 , only claimed once for a door lock and actuator , but all covered,

The key too a warranty is maintenance, don't give em wiggle room.

All cars can fail its the dealers that make it bearable or not. My11 freelander 2, xs, Manual, 18" hse sparkles, sidesteps, privacy, zermatt silver metallic, almond nutmeg alacantra, twin electric towbar

Got the same problem. 57 reg, gauge just drops not running correct.
Is there a how to for this?
Are these connections inside or outside the tank?

Thanks

Will more fuel in tank help with this?

Or anything else as have a unhappy wife at the mo, and a limping hippo.

Mine has just developed the same problem. TBH it has done it twice over the last year. The tank is full but on start up the guage reads half full. I have brimmed the tank tonight and its made no difference. On previous occasions it sorts itself in a week or so, but this time it has been the same for about ten days. I have the extended warranty but fear the same response...computer says no. _________________

lets be honest, there is no such thing as a dealer only repair.
The only advantages that a dealer has are the diagnostic equipment, and the updates from LR.

The fuel pump and gauge connection is under the rear seat. Lift the seat base on the drivers (UK) side, there is a large rubber bung, lift bung and the connector is there. Easy to get at with loads of room.
Yes the hole is big enough to remove the fuel gauges/pump through, but it is offset, so the tank (and propshaft etc.) have to be dropped to gain access to the inside of the tank. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
