I have to admit that the new RR Sport is an impressive vehicle and no comparison to the old Sport. The 3.0 SDV6 drives really well both on road and off it and I got 36 mpg out of one today on a journey from Lincoln to Corby without trying too hard. The 5.0l Supercharged is in a different league in terms of performance (and sadly price) and even with one of those I managed 27.4mpg from Gaydon to Corby.

As much as I liked the Sport, I am in no rush to order one, I am happy with my Freelander 2 and I would happily keep it another year. My next car is likely to be an RRS, it's just a matter of figures and working out when it would be a convenient time to change. |

All sounds great, but... all these options would just do my head in of what to choose.

It's an awesome machine. But I still haven't decided whether to place an order yet, will have a talk with SWMBO over the weekend.

I've just booked a test drive of the new RRS (took 3 attempts + an email BCC to the dealer MD to get a callback... Don't they want my business???).

I asked my salesman and he said that the Auto box comes as standard. The one I drove was 8-speed, I'm guessing they are all the same? |

There is no manual gearbox option on the Sport they all come with an 8 speed auto, although you do have the option to change gear manually using either the paddles or gear lever. |

Cars been in the garage today, 60k service, had a look at the RRS in the showroom again, it was new in 6 weeks back, today the drivers seat right hand bolster is knackered and creased to death with people getting in and out of it
