It makes sense if you think about it!
Most of residents employed in the shipping industry therefore no outside doors below deck..........

And for the benefit of rjc1944 Hull is Humberside. It's as Yorkshire as Cornwall is Devon! Rolling with laughter Audi A4 Avant 2.0 tdi 05 Liquid Blue

Hull is in the county of East Yorkshire, Humberside doesn't exist as a county, even a Lancastrian knows that Rolling Eyes

The name may have been abolished in 1996 but Humberside is still in existance and still called Humberside as far as many official departments and businesses are concerned. Thumbs Up Audi A4 Avant 2.0 tdi 05 Liquid Blue

I still think of Hull as Yorkshire, Widnes and Warrington as Lancashire and the Wirral as Cheshire. Can't be doing with these new-fangled made-up counties. Do you know anyone from Runcorn or Widnes who thinks they are living in Halton? (except for those who are in the borough of that name, of course).

The most ridiculous aspect of the new names is that there isn't a single top-flight rugby league club in Lancashire, and yet we effectively invented the game!

As for my native Newton-le-Willows being in Merseyside, well!!! I'm a Lancastrian with Cornish inclinations Thumbs Up Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto
