United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black

Have done Luton and Gaydon, and have heard good things about Peckforton.

We arranged a corporate day out there a few years ago with boring work stuff on Day One followed by LRE, falconry, archery etc for Day Two.

Had to cancel after some chippy wedding party tried to the burn the castle down. Everyone was gutted (boom boom!).

Just had a half day at Luton Hoo, many thanks to Lisa and the team. Not as good as the old Milton Keynes centre it's replaced, but hey it's still early days yet and let's face it ALL these centres are different and that's what makes them so good. Many thanks again Luton Hoo Land Rover Experience. Very Happy

We did Eastnor Castle in Hereford back in April before we got the FL2. Did it in a Defender 110 - that is a uber-off-roader but rubbish on the road. "Turning circle of character" Laughing

Got one through the post yesterday - going to see what the FL2 can do... Thumbs Up

Our second Land Rover Experience in a month, this time at Dunkeld, Scotland. Have to say this is one of the best experience centres around with a natural rather than man made terrain/course. Thanks to our instructor Jill and all at LRE Scotland for making our morning so enjoyable!

Hi,

Went to the Experience centre at Skipton, North Yorkshire yesterday to see what actually the Freelander is capable of doing. Well I must say that I was very impressed both with the venue and the Freelander. The tutor was very good and explained everything about the Freelander in detail, something that the car handbook just doesn't give.

I had both my Daughters with me who couldn't believe the places a Freelander could get to and get out of.

Very enjoyable / informative day out, thoroughly recommend.

Wouldn't like to buy one of those cars as a demonstrator model though, they certainly are put through their paces. !!!!

I had the LR Experience at Peckforton yesterday in the Freelander and was also really impressed with what these vehicles can do. Climbing their 50% hill in the quarry was a real eye-opener! I don't think I'd ever be brave enough to do half of what they do on the LRE in my own car but it's nice to know what it's capable of if the need ever arises.

As I don't think I can blag another voucher from my dealer, I was looking at buying one of the vouchers for sale on ebay to have another go at a different centre......has anyone tried this and are these ebay vouchers usually 'kosher' ??? 2012 SD4 XS Santorini Black

Have done the Eastnor one in my F2. Unbelievable. So much fun, and no damage to the vehicle! Almost shamed my Disco, but she is so much better in ruts! 1998 300TDi Auto Disco, never to be forgotten.

LR have recently changed to voucher system and now issue then direct to customers who buy a new LR/RR product. There are still some dealer issued vouchers in circulation and they are currently still being honoured (but probably not for much longer). A few are still appearing for sale on ebay and other forums (try Disco4.com) and are kosher.

For anyone looking for a LR Experience Centre with natural rather than man made terrain have a look at Rockingham Castle in Leicestershire/Northamptonshire.

I am shortly taking the youngest on the start-off road.com which is a Landrover experience in an Evoque, with dual controls. And the best bit is she is paying! 1998 300TDi Auto Disco, never to be forgotten.

Recently did a half day at Eastnor on a dealer voucher. Used the F2 as I wanted to see what mine was capable of. It was the an amazing experience and great fun. I was very impressed with the car's capability but as I said to the instructor it would need someone whom I liked very much to be in mortal danger before I took MY Freelander anywhere like the course we went around.
Both the place and Instructor were excellent.

I was interested to hear that Eastnor was the original testing ground for Land Rovers when they first went into production and that it has continued it's involvement for all the years since.
