Wales 2015 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Fuji White
FL2 and Evoque recall P033

TOPIx is showing a recall/campaign (P033) relating to a potential fuel leak/fire hazard on MY12 and MY13 cars. Just checked it with my VIN and it seems it's relevant to my car - shows as outstanding campaign P033 - Spill Rail.

Anyone got a valid subscription that can tell us more? I don't know if a full subscription will show more details...

Product information

Product description

Freelander 2 and Range Rover Evoque 2.2L diesel MY2012 to MY2013 vehicles

Identifying features
Campaign number: P033
Freelander 2 VIN range: 283941 to 366379
Target: 1485
Range Rover Evoque VIN range: 639806 to 816769
Target: 2995

What are the defects?
Land Rover has identified diesel fuel leaking from the engine mounted injector spill rail spigot to spill return pipe connector joint.

What are the hazards?
If the defect occurs, the diesel fuel can leak onto the ground and could also run onto the exhaust system and turbo charger where there is an increased risk of an under-bonnet fire.

Car went in today to get looked at but all was OK only got a software update. Apparently it's only a very small number of cars that will need any work done. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

They do but I don't think LR have made it public knowledge yet, dealer was a bit surprised as to how I knew. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

I also have had mine done this week after just calling up the dealer. It only took about 2 hours and that included an interior valet and wash with tyres painted. 2013 FL2 Recall

Considering I took delivery of my 2013 Freelander just last week, is there any sure fire way I can find out and be certain this recall has been performed? Obviously I can check with my dealer I guess but I wondered if anything should have been entered in the service book or something?

http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/s...nk&tx=

Thanks,

If it was built after the end of June it should have had the update during the build, as I understand you won't have a service book now as the new vehicles service history is kept on line. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

I bought it second hand. It was built late 2012 and first registered Jan 2013. Oh, and my VIN is within the range shown on the recall and I do have a service book.

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Baltic Blue

Mine is booked in at Guy Salmon next Friday for this recall. Service bint advises that in most cases, it's a simple pressure test that will take half an hour, however if it fails that, then it will need to be booked back in for the rework. Advised that in most cases, affected chassis numbers have been ok, but had one or two that needed the fix. Either way, it's no longer than an hour in most cases. I'll update you after next Friday further. (Mine was built Oct '12 BTW) Foraging near Gaydon....
