Exchaging factory 19" rims with 17" freelander 2 r

Can anyone suggest if the 19" factory fitted rims can be replaced with 16"/17" Freelander 2 rims. Has anyone encountered any issues.

I am basically looking for a second set of wheels for some off-roading work. Any alternative suggestions would also be appreciated Vagabond

I have gone the opposite! from 17" standard wheels to 19" wheels without any issue, I don't believe there is a lot of difference in the overall size due to the 19" having a lower profile tyre Black FL2

Someone put up a list of 17" rims that fit an FL2. From memory, Mondeo and Volvo XC60 rims fit. There are others as well.

If you have an I6 model then there is a limit to the wheel size due to larger brake discs to the diesel models
Forget what the minimum size is for this though Neutral I'm sure someone will pipe up and say what it is.

16's will fit on a diesel but 17 is as low as a petrol can go due to the brakes....I think Very Happy

I swapped 19inch factory rims for 17inch rims recently. No problems at all (just the expense of the tires!)

I'll be selling my 19inch factory rims and tyres soon if anyone is interested.

I fitted a set of 17 landrover rims and 235/65/17 pirelli scorpians that I found for sale on the explorz site ,they are exactly the same dia as the 19s and work well .If you keep looking around long enough you should find a set of 17s but they are rare .Cooper tyres now make an AT tyre to suit the 19 inch rims .check their site . I checked prices and they were reasonably priced and cheaper than the road tyres .

5 x 19" Diamond Turned / Contrast Paint for sale

Looking for some 17" rims to fit AT tyres and will be selling (or will do a partial swap if somebody has 5 x 17" wheels) them shortly. Shod with OEM Conti Cross Contact 235/55/19 2 with 90%, 2 with 50%, full size spare has 40%, minor curb marks on 2 rims but I will likely get them repaired prior to sale. 11MY SE SD4 in Lago Grey just arrived with a free Garmin thrown in! This could be the start of a beautiful relationship (I'm an eternal optimist, and former FL1 owner)!
