Just started getting into golf. Watched it for ages but never played properly despite being a regular visitor to the holy grail that is St Andrews over the years. Got myself set up with a used set of budget brand clubs including a bag, trolley, range finder, umbrella, shed load of balls & tees and some shoes (not used) for £100.

I've got a mixed set of clubs collected over a couple of years - Taylor Made woods, old Callaway irons, Titleist Vokey wedges and an Odyssey putter. All good quality stuff, mostly bought pre-used but some presents from kindly family. I only started playing when I retired seven years ago so I'll never be a Justin Rose but I thoroughly enjoy the game and play two or three times a week.

Temptation got the better of me! I just bought a PING G20 driver on eBay for £100. Saved a bit off the new price in the shops and it is highly rated as a game improver for high handicap golfers. Should be here before my next visit to the driving range on Thursday and the 9 hole course again on Friday.

I drive like Tiger Woods, last time out my tee shot hit a fire hydrant and bounced off into a tree.

For those wanting Golf lessons, check with your local Golf Club Pro, as they often do small group lessons, which work out much cheaper!
