Your thoughts on these cycle carriers

Just looking for a rear cycle carrier for my FL.

This first one is a correct fit for my car but it will cover the lights and number plates

The second one is the one I prefer as it should clear my number plate and lights but can find no info as to whether it will fit my car

They both have a quick, one step fitting system once intially set up.

I have a rear spoiler but there is gap between the spoiler where the top fittings will fit and hook over the tailgate edge. Both appear to have the same fittings so I'm hopeful. Has anyone on here fitted the second one? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

If you have a tow bar, get one that will fit on that. It will not mark your bodywork. We had a tow bar fitted to my girlfriends FL2 and purchased a superb cycle carrier from The Roof Box Co. They also gave us very sound advice.

I dont have a bar and in reality, I can see me using this no more than a couple of times a year on short journeys hence my choosing a clip on rear carrier. I would also prefer not to have the expense and aggro of using a lighting board. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Zermatt Silver

We use a maxxraxx flange mount on a fixed tow hitch so I can tow the van as well, and access the boot without taking all the bikes and rack off if needs be.

I don't like the tailgate mounted ones they never seem secure enough and having seen many cars with them on they all have scratches around the mounting points. My11 freelander 2, xs, Manual, 18" hse sparkles, sidesteps, privacy, zermatt silver metallic, almond nutmeg alacantra, twin electric towbar
