Warranty Question

Evening all,

The freelander is my first brand new car so I'm not familiar with warranty 'etiquette'!!

Reason I ask is tonight I've noticed that the passenger side outer 'stuck on' door seal has come away for about 6 inches in total in the corner. I was only at my dealers this morning collecting it after an aircon issue.

It's literally 6 inches of sticky foam or tape to fix, do I go back again or sort it myself? Hate being the moany customer, back the next day and obviously this is a simple job.

Take it back. Dealer will have to fill in a report and send it to LR and if it turns out to be one of many then action will be taken in the factory to identify and prevent the fault appearing in future.

Mine about to go in to have the rubber wheel arch protectors replaced as they are coming away, could fix myself but let the Dealer do it.

I only had to call out LR assistance once. I heard a violent knocking noise from the engine so decided that I would call them out to have a look. Turns out that there was a large piece of wood that had been placed in the engine bay! Don't ask how it got there, or why somebody placed it there as I am completely mystified by it. Luckily there was no damage to the engine and the car has been fine since (touchwood).

Exact same thing happened with my door seal after 3 months. They put a whole new seal on when I took it in for a towbar fitting.

Another 3 months on and it's coming off again. 6 inches in the top corner of the door where the door frame bends at an angle. Will wait to service time to raise it again probably.

I got a new engine in my D3 under warranty.

The cars not right take it back, it doesn't matter how menial it seems. I blew a fuse in mine fitting LED bulbs it took into dealers and they fixed it, no charge. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
