England 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black

I went to Paris in my wife's A3, I was worried that it would get damaged as it was only 2 weeks old at the time. Luckily there were no scratches or dents and I returned home with the car in one piece. Smile

I've seen an old lady in her Honda Jazz reverse into a Land Cruiser, twice! Shocked And then she drove off without leaving a note or details. Rolling Eyes

In 20 years of motoring in France and Spain and often for a month at a time never collected a mark on my cars. Italy is where bumper cars begin. ,

She went in today for repairs. I popped back a few hours later and the door was off the car. No other damage which is good news.

I am not overly worried that a door has to be replaced as it is a simple bolt on panel. There is no actual damage to the bodyshell. It is having all new weather strips, door seals etc. Nothing is being left to chance. If in doubt, replace it is opinion of the body shop!

So should be back home in about a week. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Cheers mate. If all goes to plan, it should not look any different to what it was before. Apart from the couple of stone chips on the door/wheel arch which will be gone! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Check and make sure they re rust proofed it, like cavity wax inside the door when you collect it.

I feel like I go from one problem to the next. SO frustrating when you care so much for your vehicle. I go out of my way to park next to nobody else at the furthest corners of car parks but still these morons cause damage.

Picked up this delightful scrape to my bumper earlier in the year. Resprayed by a local specialist and looks like new thankfully.

Then just last week I ended up driving through a pool of paint that had been spilt in a car park. Hoping it'll all come off with some good scrubbing with white spirit.

Know how you feel! I look after my car, blacking the wheels etc after every wash unlike some of my neighbours who think a sponge and bucket of fairy washing-up liquid will suffice.

Last month I caught the front passenger wheel on a rock in the lovely single track lanes of Wales and just yesterday whilst travelling down the M40 had a stone hit my windscreen which although hasnt cracked the screen has put a huge chip in it and is on the driving side so think a new screen will be needed (unless the windscreen boffins can resin repair it - i dont hold much faith though as surely they make more money out of a replacement rather than a repair?)

Oh and last month I also had a differential sensor go haywire so now get 'tranmission fault' everytime i use the car - going in on Monday now dealer has received the part.

Hope thats all my bad luck done with!!! Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

Hopefully! Smile My car is 6 months newer than yours, and I've already been crashed into and had the windscreen replaced. I've only had the car a year! (Actually a year tomorrow Wink )

Are you looking forward to getting a new FL2 next year?

Tricky question! Lease runs out March 2014 so ideally would only want a 2 year deal so that I can change to the FL3 in early 2016 (as that comes out sometime 2015 by which time the first off the line will have demonstrated all the problems so LR will have them fixed in time for my 2016 delivery!!) That said do I want another FL2, love the shape and the recent updates but still feel it could have been more. If I went for one it would definately be a dynamic but think I would have to add the Plus pack to gain the HSE goodies - got so used to them I think i would miss them.

Biggest thing is cost - the FL2 costs a fortune to lease in comparison to others, I could get a fully loaded Q5 for similar money and must admit liking them (anyone on here got experience of them?) Not much else floats my boat out there although work colleague has got one of the those Mazda CX5's which is half the cost to lease than my FL2 - granted its not in the same league but the cost difference does make you think!

Will be thinking long and hard towards the end of the year!

I have the same issue, I don't lease my cars but I would like to change before the warranty runs out. My FL2 is a September 2011 with 23,000 miles on the clock. I will probably end up buying a 6 month old HSE next year and keep it for 2 years then change to the FL3 once it's teething problems have been sorted out.

I went to look at a Q5, and whilst they were nice, I would expect them to be boring to drive. But I expect they have good build quality and are very reliable like any other Audi. I left the Audi showroom and went to LR as I thought the FL was a better bet. (I've had no problems with mine and am loving it)

I'm not surprised that the FL is expensive to lease, as the running and buying costs are rather high for its class. I think you would regret going for a cheaper SUV, and every time you saw another FL you would have wished you had chosen it.

The Dynamic looks really nice, I would either choose Mauritius Blue and Ivory/Ebony interior or Firenze Red with Pimento/Ebony interior. Cool
