Tracking check after rear disc change

Do I need to get my tracking checked after having my rear drums/disc changed? Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

No. Only if the drive hub has been removed which is not necessary to change the discs. John

Might be something else then, just had service and MOT when they changed the rear disc and handbrake and it just doesn't drive as before

Sometimes I get a slight feeling the rears is a little loose

Might get it checked anyway, been a year or so Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Sounds like someone has made a bit of a nonsense of fitting the brake shoes. Maybe a bit of adjustment may help. Is the handbrake OK (as far as FL2 handbrakes are ever OK)? John

Changing the discs and the brake pads will have no effect on the handling or tracking of the car. You mention a clicking noise however the question is where from?
The handbrake shoes have retainer rods and clips so yes if not fitted back on a loose part would rattle until it was ground away.
With regard to feeling different afterwards, do you know if each wheel was replaced on its original side / hub?? If not then it may be rotating in reverse direction and you will have to wait for the rubber to wear down until it 'beds in'.

I have checked the car, the clicking or maybe a whirring is feeling like its coming from the front end, I hear it when going round a longer sweeping corner, and feel a slight vibration in sync with the noise, through the brake pedal, I thought it might be brakes, but i think they said the fronts were 50% worn

its not there all the time though, i also have had new rubber put on the front tyres, and there was a wheel wobble at motorway speed, but they rebalanced these and the wobble went away (almost)

I think its a coincidence, or im hearing a noise that has always been there, I'll just see how it goes, its not loud or getting loud and i can't hear it with the radio on either Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

If you are getting vibration through the brake pedal when you brake then nine times out of ten you have a disc running out of true. Occasionally it can be dodgy or poorly fitted brake pads. John
