I always just use slightly soapy water for any dash area cleaning inside.

Yes - It didnt leave a residue anywhere else. It took less then 2 seconds for the surface to crinkle. It looks exactly like crinkle finish black paint along the upper 2/3 of the switch. The padlock image is still perfectly visible. Jules |

Yes our oldest has a huge thick coat - almost bear like - he finds it difficult in this heat but can sniff water out at several 100 yards and at the meerest whiff he was off headlong it whatever pool he could find. They also spent many hours swimming up and down the rivers Wharfe, Nidd and Aire and also the Scar House reservoir in upper Nidderdale [/img] Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated ![]() |

Im resigned to probably having to buy a new switch. The can says "Simoniz Dashboard shine". Made in EU. "...anti-static formula prevents dust build up..." No warnings about its use on the car. No mention of it dissolving your car's interior. Only H&S stuff about it damaging your own interior should you inhale or swallow it. Ingredients not listed but must be very volatile. Jules |

Ouch Jules; whilst its unfortunate that you have been caught out, thank you for bringing it to the attention of the rest of us.
