Like every thing if you dont use your warranty that year its a money down the drain. On the other hand for comparison if your AirCon Compressor packs in your looking at £ 250 - 300 ish for a re con one less labour same for yoy turbo, I would imagine a Diff or problem with the Haldex unit your looking at allot more.

One Example I just had my rear door lock replaced under warranty if I had no warranty I would have looked at doing it my self as Land Rover with there Labour would have been some were in the regeon of £250 so with that in mind £505 isnt to bad.

Other option I have done in the past is put some Money away each month just in case if it isnt used its a bonus. HSE TD4 Stornoway Grey ★ Rear Spoiler ★ Black Leather Interior ★ Panoramic Roof ★ Navigation with Bluetooth ★ 19 " Alloys ★ Alpine Stereo 10 Disc Auto changer and Ipod connection and lots of other nice toys ★

when my car went into reduced power 150 miles from home i had the car recovered home, next day AA man had a look decided to book car in to mail dealer but as they were full booked had the car recovered 70 miles to the next nearest dealer repaired and delivered home, during this i had a RR Evoque to run around in, not sure what the total bill for that would have been but my guess more than your £798 for extended warranty 1995 P38 now dead

Try warrant direct, they won't be so cheep to start with, but they will drop the price to get the deal, but you will be far safer with the LR one, there's an old saying, you get what................. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Swings and roundabouts. I've had to spend over 700 quid on mine since it ran out of warranty three years ago. L/R paid 60% towards the bill.
£798 x 3 is £2394.
I suspect this would more than cover the cost of the Haldex at an Indy if it failed now. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

If your warranty has just ended then it's either cough up for extended cover, don't bother and gamble or don't bother and pursue through small claims court if something goes wrong. Laughing

A bit of a gamble in itself as not all faults that a warranty would cover, would render the car unsatisfactory to the 'reasonable person.' That said, with something more serious, the cost of filing a claim would be a lot less than the price of a full on warranty.

I keep wanting something I've bought from a shop to go wrong and for them to refuse to help so I can try out the system Laughing LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

MOT failure cover sounds interesting, might have to investigate that
