United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Sumatra Black
time to say goodbye

The FL2 goes next week, traded in for something else. Of the three I have owned (2 x FL1 and this one) this has definitely got to be the best. In a way, I will be sorry to see it go, but time to move on. Ford did a great job of bringing the FL up to date though it lost some character of the original. A quirky 3 door where the rear part of the roof could be taken off, the opening rear window and head gasket failures on the 1800. Ah, those were the days.

My current FL2 is not without issues though. Bought from a main dealer old at 3 years and it went back under warranty 3 or 4 times, shredded a set of front tyres because the front / back tracking was out and then did the same within 18 months - again. It goes back into the trade as PX with bearing whine, busted PDC and the tracking still out. It's not that I didn't look after it, it has just become overly expensive to repair, tax and fuel.

Saying that, it has been sure footed, started every time and a pleasure to drive on short or long journeys. The forum's been pretty good too Very Happy

I don't know what the "for sale" policy is on the forum but I have a couple of bits to sell if people are interested, otherwise they will be going on eBay.

Thanks for the support over the last 3 years and maybe in 3 years time I will get my fourth FL.
