Hi from down under. I've just purchased a 2010 td4_e with 53k on the clock, having been checking out the good reviews for some time now. It sits alongside my 1998 300tdi Discovery. Now we have a pigeon pair - the Disco for me and the FL2 for my wife, although I'm sneaking in quite a few drives in the new addition to the household.

Hopefully picking us my first freelander 2 next week. 2009 58 hse model with approx 44k. Getting it from a stratstone dealership. Service hasn't been great but hopefully the car should make up for everything.

Just wanted to introduce myself, been following for a while and really can't wait to start going.

One thing I did want help with, the dealer says that the vehicle comes with a heated windscreen, but how can I tell if it has the cold pack?

Welcome. As far as I know, all HSEs come with the heated windscreen as standard.

Isn't the cold pack the heated screen and washer jets?

The screen is easy enough to spot as you can see the wire membrane in the glass. Having had the heated screen, mirrors and seats in my D3 for two winters, it is one the best things since sliced bread.

Somehow I still end up out side clearing SWMBO screen though. What a hero eh?

I have just been looking at the LR website, and the HSE has the cold pack as standard. My 2011 HSE certainly has the cold pack.

Bought my first FL2 last week and loving it. an MY08 TD4 HST in black

Here it is in it's current guise (I added all the roof stuff after purchase), not sure if I'm ballsy enough to make many mods though will probably change the radio at some stage as would love MP3 capability from a memory stick or somesuch.
