There are some winter tyres you can run all year such as the Vredestein wintracs, but I have no knowledge of the Dunlops.

Winter tyres are made from a softer compound, thus they wear relatively quickly - particularly in the warmer conditions of summer. In winter, though, they need plenty of tread to be effective, and as a result you may find you need to replace them more often than if you had one set for summer and one for winter. If you're not planning to keep the car long that may not matter, but over a longer period two sets may be more cost effective. Personally, I've gone the second-set route. |

Very similar to me Lurcher. 3 years old in September, 30k and I did 8k in the last year. The way I see it is I can always sell the second set if needs be, and as the winter tyres were £680 and new all year tyres with new alloys were £560, it was a no brainer. I think that winter tyres operate best at anything below 7 degrees, so if you decide to have one set then personally I would go for a M&S all year tyre rather than winters set. Good luck either way mate. _________________

After much research and trawling I am pretty much sold on Winters ( when its a bad un its a bad un here ) , its looking at the cost of purchasing additional alloys plus the tyres .
