12v Cigarette Lighter Dead

Hi, I have just got a 2007 Freelander 2 and both 12v cigarette lighter ports in the front are dead.
Checked the fuse 45 under the bonnet as indicated by the hand book, and its fine. (Metered it out ok.)
I checked the connector under the cigarette lighter and thats not getting 12v either, even with the engine running.

Are there any other fuses that supply the 12v sockets that are not documented?
Are there any documented electrical circuit diagrams on the net for this?
Cheers

Tony

I checked this and the one in the boot, but nothing is documented for the Cigerette Lighter sockets apart from Fuse 45 under the bonnet.

Look here on page 14, it could be the auxiliary relay not energising

BTW, it pays to read the 'stickies' there's some good info there.

There is a connector under the rear of the centre console (the one between seats) that sometimes the guys from the dealer forgot to plug back in (or fully in), especially when they dismount the console for the PTC recall.
See if it's the case.
Access it from behind the seats, dismantling the rear audio controls or the mask if there is no rear audio console.
See in the below PDF, on picture 11.

Also worth noting is the two 12v sockets are independant, the one at the front is live with the ignition and the one towards the rear is permanant live.

Thanks guys for the very quick replys, very useful.

Fixed the Centre 12v aux, following the wiring diagram. Fuse FA6 in the rear was blown. Very Happy

The front 12v is still down. Its could be the RE5 Relay, not sure how I can test my one is dead?

Cheers

Tony

Well done for fixing one..but you have checked with the 'ignition' on haven't you..the rear one is permanently on and the front one only when activated by key docking etc

Hi

I have this problem too - both of my cigarette lighters no longer work. They used to. Which number fuses should I check? Also my drivers window will go down automatically but won't go up automatically - could this be a fse too - if so, which number?

Cheers

Sam

7 posts up from here, page 14 shows three accessory/cigar sockets and the associated fuses.
Window problem won be a fuse, more likely to be the switch assembly, it won't have separate fuses for up and down.

Thank you Taztastic - I have printed off page 14 (not entirely sure what I'm looking at tho lol!)

Window problem sorted - needed to be reset - was guided to instructions on how to do it in the handbook. Very Happy One problem sorted the next looks a little more difficult. Confused

Is there an easy way to swap these two around? I would prefer to have the one at the rear controlled by the ignition.
