Headrest DVD Screen

I have an 07 HSE with the rear entertainment system, if I add the headrest rear screens where is the media input for these? and do they automatically route the audio to the rear headphone sockets?

Cheers,

Tom

If that is the case then i won't bother, they wouldn't get used much anyway I just like to play with toys! I was hoping it would just be a plug and play.

i have installed screens to work in conjunction with land rover ipod module and cko tv unit

https://www.c-ko.co.uk/products/?c=39&p=CKODVBT1080PLUS

sound is either through headphones using rear audio module behind console or via speakers . Infrared can be used but only 2 headsets supplied and i have 3 kids!

kitchener , How did you manage to get the sound through the rear audio module and the speakers? Have the same problem with 3 kids and 2 headsets. Plus the kids keep breaking the headsets.

If you want to listen to the audio through your car speakers you need a male phono (red and white ) to 3.5mm jack lead.

It also depends what you are using as your video source.

If your using an iPod \iphone composite lead you will need a female version of same lead

Connect the lead to the audio out of your source and the jack into the aux audio at the back of the handbrake console. The only lead connecting into the headrest module should be a video lead. To play through speakers just select aux on stereo. If you want to use wired headphones just plug them into rear audio module and select aux with the mode button. You can then change mode on stereo if you want to listen to radio.

Thank you, that would work with an external video source. I didn't mention that the Freelander/LR2 has the 2'nd version of the "Rear Entertainment System" with the built in player and larger screens. Looking for a way to get audio from the built in media player to the stereo aux, or rear headphones. If not, might have to open the unit up to see if I can solder on some audio out cables somewhere.
